About Us
SCUGOG CONNECTIONS is an educational program meant to support the residents of the Township on the path to environmental sustainability, which includes supporting local services and businesses. Our objective is to enhance the environmental health and sustainability of the Lake Scugog watershed.
As Scugog Connections grows, we continue to engage, educate and mobilize the community towards a sustainable lifestyle that will contribute to the health of Lake Scugog and the local environment. Our central location provides public education programs, plans and coordinates volunteer activities and organizes on-the-ground demonstration projects. We offer information materials, workshops, presentations and a variety of programs to help you ensure that actions that affect the environment are sustainable such as reducing the impact of your rural property or how to incorporate natural gardening practices for your urban home — we can help.
Scugog Connections is encouraging everyone in the community to play an active role in the health of our environment and promote responsible water stewardship.
Educate
Our office is located in downtown Port Perry. Resources are available to educate you on the changes that you can make in your daily activities to reduce the impacts on the natural environment and the Lake Scugog watershed.
Engage
Hands on educational workshops to support both rural and urban landowners. Workshops include:
- Water runoff management
- Well and septic system maintenance
- Water and energy efficiencies
- Natural Shoreline Maintenance
- Working Around Water: Understanding and Overcoming Environmental Challenges
- Healthy Lands for Healthy Horses

Act
Scugog Connections assists community organizations, landowners and other partners with stewardship initiatives that demonstrate best management practices such as tree planting, buffer strip improvement and enhancing urban green spaces.
